Characteristics of computer

1.              SPEED: - computer is a fast device it can perform millions of calculations in a fragment of second. Speed of computer is not measured in seconds but is measured in fraction of seconds i.e. 10-6(a microsecond) of 10-9(a nanosecond) or 10-2(a picoseconds).

2.      ACCURACY: - a computer produces an accurate output if the data input into is it correct.

3.    VERSATILITY: - the computer is, very much flexible in performing the jobs provided to it. It can do different kind of jobs provided to it in a logical sequence. This means it can perform all the jobs the instructions of which can be logically serialized.

4.    DILIGENCE: - unlike humans, a computer is free from problems like exhaustion, lack of concentration, and confusion, it can do repeated work with same speed and accuracy.

5.     STORAGE CAPACITY: - like human brain, computer has its own memory, which can retain very large amount of it.it can store bulk of data and can retrieve it as and when desired.
